CSC – IT Center for Science is a Finnish publicly-owned company with special state assignments, jointly owned by the state of Finland and Finnish higher education institutions. CSC specializes in providing digital solutions for data management, scientific computing, and education.
As a non-profit enterprise with special tasks, CSC’s core mission is to create value for its customers. They serve primary customers such as the Ministry of Education and Culture, higher education institutions, research institutes, and public administration. CSC excels at catalyzing its customers’ success by helping them to collate, compute, preserve, transfer, analyze, and utilize information. Their services include internationally high-quality ICT services like computing and data management for researchers, digital learning and education services for educational organisations, and common platforms, identity management services, and networks for public administration and culture.
What is their role in the DS4Skills project?
In DS4SKILLS, CSC is leading use case 2. They are responsible for advancing solutions for international higher education student mobility. By making European higher education learning opportunities more discoverable and automating data flows between organisations, the use case provides better access and more diversity for learners to build their competences.
