Meet The Partners: Athumi

Meet the partners Athumi

About Athumi

Athumi is a Belgium-based organisation that helps companies make data more usable, boosting the growth of the Flemish data economy. As a neutral partner, Athumi facilitates solutions to complex challenges in data technology, the development of new data-driven ecosystems, and cross-sector innovations.

What is their role in the DS4Skills project?

In the DS4SKILLS project, Athumi leads Use Case 6, which aims to reduce administrative work for students and enhance mobility in Europe. The initiative leverages the Belgian government’s personal data certificates, provided by Athumi, to enable the secure and verifiable sharing of school certificates that confirm a student’s enrollment.

By building this within Athumi’s interoperable ecosystem, the project ensures seamless integration with existing digital infrastructures. This simplifies a student’s access to services and benefits, enhancing efficiency and cross-border recognition. The approach benefits key stakeholders including tech firms, businesses, and consumers.

Athumi is working in close collaboration with IMEC, which contributes technical expertise in semantic technologies, distributed data systems, and Solid protocols.

Through this work, Athumi continues its mission of building transparent, secure, and user-driven data ecosystems that support both innovation and individual empowerment.
